LloydBlack, I'm not sure I understand why this page is protected?
Only members (for the most part) are editing this is a list for members?
Wikipedia guidance on protect seems to be to use it as sparingly as possible. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Wikipedia:_The_Missing_Manual/Editing,_creating,_and_maintaining_articles/Dealing_with_vandalism_and_spam#Protecting_pages
If its your personal page then i would probably put it under your namespace till you want to move it out. it can still be linked from where ever you want.
John says: This is a community resource, for a very familial group. We're all about collective responsibility. If this is a page not under the title of a member, I see a real philosophical clash between private ownership of this page and our guiding principle of encouraging self-actualization and the ability to really change the world around them, big or small. Not many resources are closed off to inquiry our investigation, and those resources that are we're working to find ways of rectifying this. This page, as a page designed explicitly for new members, should exemplify our policies of investigation and interaction, in order to guide new members towards collaboration.
