We probably need to do our best to reduce our constant electrical footprint since we're on the hook for power. Can we consolidate down to a single server for ongoing operations (famicam, file sharing, etc)? Abyssknight 09:36, 22 November 2011 (CST)

Yes and no. We probably could go to more power efficient servers. We need a firewall with VPN support that can handle our internet pipe. Also need to consider access control/security, which needs a decent bit of storage. We can move the VM server to an area where it will be used more, and so is only powered up on occasion, depending on usage patterns. Could look into lower power Atom server or similar for famicam, etc. --Mack 14:27, 22 November 2011 (CST)
Agreed. We still need infrastructure, but we probably don't need that giant raid array. :) Also, does Brian want the rack back? Abyssknight 15:05, 22 November 2011 (CST)

I just realized the new lab is right next to places such as: Sink Outlet of Central Florida, Alternative Energy Services, and A Planet Granite. Might be an opportunity there. Abyssknight 08:42, 23 November 2011 (CST)
