The Boyar-Schultz 6-12 Surface Grinder is located in the Metal Shop. It has a cross-feed travel of 7 inches and longitudinal travel of 13 inches, and vertical travel of 11.5 inches (175 x 330 x 290 mm). The spindle is driven by a 1/2 HP (370 W) motor at 3000 RPM with a 7-inch (175mm) grinding wheel. Previous owner (knife shop) converted it to single-phase with a 220 Leeson motor with 2 HP (1.5 kW) and 3450 RPM. FamiLAB acquired it in Dec 2017.
