Some clarification about my role with updating the FamiLAB wiki and what the wiki is:

• My role as a "Wiki Project Manager" is not to run the wiki alone but to guide and encourage it's updating with continued contributions from other editors.
• I do not control the wiki, I merely update it in collaboration with other admins and editors.
• The wiki is a community resource that is a collection of useful information about FamiLAB and it's members who opt to provide their information.
• I encourage anyone wishing to contribute to the wiki to contact an admin for a wiki account.

General Public Information:

Lloyd Black created the unofficial 'Shadow Division' (also known as SD) in order to help the lab but perform tasks behind the scenes where possible.

Lloyd Black is the only official, public, member of SD and is why his apparel shows the red FamiLAB logo on his embroidered apparel.

FamiLAB, as an organization, is NOT responsible for the function or actions taken by SD members.

There are specific requirements for becoming a member which are not listed.

Official SD members are strictly selected, not voted on.

General "Shadow Division (SD)" Rules:

1. Do not engage in any lab drama at all.

2. Do not engage in romantic relationships with ANY other FamiLAB members.

3. Do not discuss the workings or tasks of the Shadow Division with non-SD FamiLAB members under any condition.

4. Do not perform tasks for attention, any public acceptance or public recognition.

5. Do not get influenced by people who are not worthy of being listened to.

6. DO engage in the "do-acracy" of FamiLAB. It's part of being a FamiLAB member and being a SD member.

7. Never do anything that could harm FamiLAB in any capacity. That includes the community as a whole and the physical facility of the lab.

8. DO accept tasks that Lloyd Black considers important, even if other non-SD FamiLAB members say the task is not needed. (Sometimes there's underlying reasons for the task to be completed that aren't known to others.)

9. Never brag about what you do in order to help the lab. Many things should be done because it was the right thing to do.

10. Do things for the lab without being told to do so.

11. Always perform tasks behind the scenes if possible.

12. Do perform tasks quietly to assist the lab in order to enhance lab efficiency, lab appearance, and generally make things better for all.

13. The only members who should be aware of major tasks should be the board, so they're aware of what's being done but improper tasks are avoided.

14. It's preferred that SD members discreetly wear the red version of the FamiLAB logo somewhere, but it's not required.

15. Do not share the reason why it's being worn in red. If asked, it's just personal choice. Remember, SD doesn't officially exist.

16. SD members who choose to wear apparel with the red FamiLAB logo are required to get that apparel from only Lloyd Black directly. (There is no charge for getting this apparel from Lloyd, it's complementary from Lloyd.)

17. Anyone wearing apparel with the red FamiLAB logo who get it from other sources will not be recognized as a SD member.

Additional rules are for SD members only.

All rules are subject to change without notice.

Other:

Being SD is NOT officially a FamiLAB subdivision, only Lloyd Black knows who are actual SD members and the membership number. That information is NOT available by request, so if you're reading this, don't ask.

SD is NOT a FamiLAB club and doesn't cost money. SD, mostly, is simply a group of individuals who do things quietly, behind the scenes, to get things done that benefit the lab.

There are other aspects and some benefits of SD that are reserved for dedicated SD members only.

Asking about SD at member meetings is strongly discouraged because it doesn't officially exist. Inquiries about its function and actions (current, past, and future) will be simply denied.
