These are the instructions for when a member considering checking items out of the lab temporarily.

How to Borrow Stuff

  • First, read the Lab Tools page to see if the item is owned by the Lab or if it is a personally owned item.
    • If you are unsure, ask someone in #lab_ops_and_mgmt on Slack.*In general, tools should not be removed from the lab.
  • Books are fair game, but need to be returned.
  • Log into FamiLAB Slack, get on the #borrowed_stuff channel, & write a note with the following info:
    • Item
    • Borrower
    • Date Borrowed
    • Anticipated Return Date
  • When you return it, get on the #borrowed_stuff channel & write a note saying you returned it.
